A new door. . .

As they say, “When one door closes, another one opens.”

I have not announced it on my blog yet because I am so sad, but Rusty Pickle is closing.  I am sad that I was only able to be with them for six short months and even more sad because I love their paper.  They are looking into taking some of their designs digital so I will keep you updated on that!

But my other door opened!  I met Christie on the convention circuit about 2 years ago.  She has fabulous tshirts

and hats I can’t resist!!! (I couldn’t find a photo of my favorite!)

So back to the story, I met Christie, loved her stuff, then she starts a kit club.  Now about this time not only does she start a kit club but she expands from scrapbook appearal to scrapabook goodies!  Yep!  Goodies!!!!  Chick n’ Feed (buttons Yay!), Chick n’ Feathers (flowers) and Chick n’ Noodles (ribbon) are three of the new items Two Chicks Designs now offers.

What choice do I have?  I must apply!  I love all her stuff!

So I am honored to say I was accepted and am now on the Two Chicks Design Team!  YAY!!!! So look for some fabulous new layouts featuring all her new fabulous stuff!!!

My last Rusty Pickle project

I am so sad to say that Rusty Pickle is going out of business.  I was only designing for them for 6 months but it was fun!  This is my last project: a bow holder for my niece!  I used the Pirate Princess line, Rusty Pickle heart chipboard, a wooden L, a flat 8×10 canvas, misc. glitter chipboard letters from M’s, Misc. black ribbon from M’s.

A bit of Valentine’s Day

I love to decorate for holidays.  Like seriously.  But usually I refrain it to my entry way table only. :(   Last year after Valentine’s Day I saw on someone’s blog or in a magazine (sorry for not remembering) a Vday tree.  I couldn’t wait to make one.  So today is the day.  Seriously guys this took like 30 minutes and 15 of those minutes was walking across the street looking for the perfect limbs on the neighbors trees.  I still don’t have trees thanks to Scott but that’s another rant!  LOL!

I used a vase from my cousin-in-law’s wedding.  Thanks Amber!
Limbs from my neighbor’s yard
Paint from Scott’s left over paints
Some red C’mas balls I held out just for this project
Conversation hearts left over from last year
and some red hearts I picked up at M’s in the $1 section.
Total cost for me: $1!  Isn’t that fab!

But now that I look at it more, I may pick up some more ornaments at Michael’s tomorrow!  And I definetly need more conversation hearts!
We shall see!  But here ya go!

Why do you design?

That is an easy question for me to answer but when asked to create a mini album surrounding that question I was baffled.  I thought, I know why I scrap: to preserve memories.  But why design?  Why do I have the desire to not just scrapbook but design?  The answer was very simple to me: the friends, the creativity and the stuff!  So I created a mini album that showcases those three points!  Then I couldn’t decide between acrylic or chipboard so went for a little of both and threw in some Heidi Swapp folders we rescued from the dumpster too!

I used We R Memory Keepers “White Out” that I had been saving for something special, My Mind’s Eye “All Star” and some Scenic Route papers. I also used a lot of misc. ribbons, button, felt and corner brads!

It's all about

I still have several openings for the scrapbook retreat in April! Please email me for more information!

Happy Birthday Card

I needed a Happy Birthday card for a friend and wanted something upbeat and happy.  I hand-cut this using a piece of a box and a piece of paper from one of my favorite manufacturers: My Mind’s Eye, an embossing folder and my cuttlebug and lots of stickles!

Don’t forget about the retreat! There are more details in a post two below! I still have several openings!!!

Pink and Aqua and winners, oh my!

My kids are OBSESSED with the Wizard of Oz right now. Can you tell? I’m pretty thrilled with it actually as it was my favorite movie as a child. Well one of. I also loved Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins. Catching a theme here? I love musicals. LOL. What was your favorite?

Random.org chose a winner from the people who signed up to follow my blog and the winner is: Stephanie Feist!!! YAY! Keep a lookout for some Rusty Pickle goodies coming your way!

I have been organizing my scrap space so I’ve been looking at a lot of aqua and brown. I haven’t scrapped in quite a while so yesterday when I sat down to scrap I wanted to use some aqua. I turned to my favorite scrap line from one of my favorite manufacturers: My Mind’s Eye. I don’t know how much you can tell but its all sparkly! And yes, my buttons are naked, but I didn’t have the color string I needed. :(

I hope you enjoy it:
